Behind the Lines

A World War II Story of Escape and Evasion

On April 27, 1944, my father, Jack William Stead, was shot down during a bombing raid over France. What follows is an autobiographical account of his experiences with the French Underground. His life was spared because of the bravery of the men and women who were a part of the French Underground. For that I (his son) and the entire Stead family are forever grateful.
